which 定语从句口语里怎么省略：先判断它是不是宾语

which 定语从句在口语里不是随便省。最稳的判断是：如果它在限定性定语从句里作宾语，常常可以省掉；如果它作主语，或者这个从句只是逗号隔开的补充说明，就不能省。比如 the song which you listened to 可以说成 the song you listened to，但 the song which helped me 不能省。

先记一句话：能省的是“宾语 which”

很多人搜索 which 定语从句口语里怎么省略，真正卡住的不是 which 的中文意思，而是不知道它在句子里干什么。

先看这句：

the song which you listened to

这里的 which 指前面的 the song。从句里真正的动作是：

you listened to the song

the song 是 listened to 的对象，所以 which 在从句里作宾语。日常口语里可以省成：

the song you listened to

再看一个：

the T-shirt which you recommended
the T-shirt you recommended

推荐的是那件 T-shirt，which 也是宾语，所以可以省。

Cambridge Grammar 和 British Council 的 relative clauses 资料都把这个边界讲得很清楚：限定性定语从句里，关系代词作宾语时可以省略；作主语或非限定性补充说明时不能这样省。

3 步判断 which 能不能省

第 1 步，找到 which 前面的名词

先找被说明的东西，也就是 which 指回去的名词。

如果前面是人，通常不是 which，而是 who、that 或省略。本文只处理 which 指物或事情的情况。

第 2 步，看 which 后面是不是“主语 + 动词”

这是最实用的口语判断法。which 后面如果已经有一个主语，再跟动词，which 多半是宾语。

the song which you listened to
which 后面：you + listened
判断：which 是 listened to 的对象，可以省

the T-shirt which you recommended
which 后面：you + recommended
判断：which 是 recommended 的对象，可以省

省略后就是：

the song you listened to
the T-shirt you recommended

第 3 步，如果 which 后面直接接动词，先别省

如果 which 后面直接就是动词，which 往往是从句里的主语。

the app which helps me practice
which 后面：helps
判断：which 是 helps 的主语，不能省

不能说：

错误：the app helps me practice

这已经变成另一个句子了，不再是“那个帮我练习的 app”这个名词短语。

再看：

the song which sounds familiar

这里是 song sounds familiar，which 是 sounds 的主语，所以不能省。

which、that 和直接省略怎么选？

如果你说的是限定性定语从句，也就是这个从句用来说明“到底是哪一个东西”，口语里常见三种说法。

日常口语里，that 和直接省略都很常见。which 也可以用，但有时听起来比直接省略更完整一点。

你不用把它背成“口语一定不用 which”。更准确的说法是：当 which 指物，并且在限定性定语从句里作宾语时，口语里经常直接省掉。

介词在后面时，别把介词也丢了

the song which you listened to 省掉 which 后，to 还要留在句尾：

the song which you listened to
the song you listened to

不要说：

错误：the song you listened

因为 listen 后面接对象时通常需要介词 to。这里 which 被省掉了，但介词关系还在。

同样：

the thing which you talked about
the thing you talked about

不要把 about 也删掉。

如果写成更正式的介词前置结构，就不能省 which：

the song to which you listened
the topic about which we talked

这种结构在正式写作里能见到，日常口语里不如 the song you listened to 自然。

什么时候绝对不要省？

1. which 是主语时不要省

正确：I found an app which helps me practice listening.
错误：I found an app helps me practice listening.

这里 which 做 helps 的主语。省掉后，从句没有合法的主语。

2. 逗号后面的补充说明不要省

看这句：

I bought this app, which helps me practice listening.

逗号后面的 which helps me practice listening 是补充说明，不是帮你区分“哪一个 app”的必要信息。这类非限定性定语从句里，which 不能省。

不能写成：

错误：I bought this app, helps me practice listening.

3. 不要省完又补 it

中文会说“我听过的那首歌”，英语不要在从句里重复一个 it：

正确：the song which you listened to
正确：the song you listened to
错误：the song which you listened to it
错误：the song you listened to it

which 已经指向前面的 song。省略 which 后，也不要再加 it。

6 组口语改写练习

先用完整版本看清关系，再练口语省略版。

练的时候不要只背“删 which”。每一句都问自己：

which 指什么？
which 是动作的对象吗？
省掉后，句子里还剩完整的主语 + 动词吗？

和 where、whose、what 从句别混在一起

which 省略这件事，只解决“关系代词作宾语”这个问题。它和其他从句卡点不一样。

比如：

the song you listened to

这里讲的是你听了哪首歌，song 是对象。

the place where we met

这里讲的是我们在哪里见面，place 是地点关系，不能简单套用 which 省略。

用真实句子练，不要只看规则

判断 which 能不能省，最怕只在纸面上看规则。你可以在 Video Language Learn 里找一段真实英文视频，按三步练：

1. 用逐句精听先听出完整句子。
2. 用单句循环反复听 the song you listened to 这类短语块。
3. 听写时把省略掉的 which 在脑子里补回来，确认它是不是宾语。
4. 跟读时再按口语版本说顺，不要加多余的 it。

这样练的目的不是背术语，而是让你听到 the thing you said、the video I watched、the app I use 时，能立刻知道中间省掉了一个作宾语的关系代词。

which 定语从句口语里是不是都能省？

不是。只有限定性定语从句里，which 作宾语时才常见省略。which 作主语、非限定性从句、正式的介词前置结构都不能随便省。

that 能不能和 which 一样省？

在限定性定语从句里，如果 that 作宾语，也常常可以省。例如 the book that I bought 可以说成 the book I bought。但 that 作主语时也不能省，例如 the book that changed my mind 不能省成 the book changed my mind。

the song you listened to 里的 to 为什么还在？

因为省掉的是关系代词，不是介词。listen to 仍然需要 to 来接对象。省略后要保留 to：the song you listened to。
