other、others、the other、another 不要先翻译成“其他”再硬背。更稳的做法是两步：第一，问自己是不是在说“剩下的那个或那些”；第二，看后面有没有名词，以及名词是单数还是复数。这样你就能解释为什么是 other people，不是 others people；为什么是 another book，不是 another books。
先用 2 步判断，不要背一串中文意思
这组词最容易让中文学习者卡住，因为它们都可能被翻成“其他、另一个、彼此”。但英语真正要你判断的是两个问题。
第一，是否特指“剩下的”。
如果你前面已经限定了一个范围，比如一共两个、一共六个、这一组人里面剩下的那些，就容易用 the other 或 the others。
第二，后面是否还接名词。
如果后面接名词，other 和 another 更常见；如果后面不接名词，才会看到 others、the other、the others 作为代词使用。
你可以先记这个总表：

another：又一个，另一个，后面通常接单数可数名词
another 来自 an + other，现在写成一个词。它常用来表示“又一个、再一个、另一个不同的选择”。
Can I have another cup of coffee?
我能再来一杯咖啡吗？这里是“一杯又一杯”，cup 是单数可数名词，所以用 another cup。
This one is too small. I need another size.
这个太小了。我需要另一个尺码。这里不是在说“剩下的那个唯一尺码”，而是在说“换一个不同的尺码”，所以也可以用 another。
常见错误是把 another 直接放在复数名词前：
Wrong: another books
Right: other books
Right: another book如果你想说“其他书”，用 other books。如果你想说“另一本书”，用 another book。
other：后面常接复数名词或不可数名词
other 可以放在名词前，表示“其他的、另外的、不同的”。它作为限定词时没有复数形式，所以不要写成 others people 或 others books。
Other people may disagree.
其他人可能不同意。Do you have any other questions?
你还有其他问题吗？people 和 questions 都是复数名词，前面用 other，不是 others。
如果是单数可数名词，other 前面通常还需要一个限定词，比如 the other, one other, any other, my other。
I have one other question.
我还有一个问题。No other student answered it correctly.
没有其他学生答对。所以，不是看到“另一个”就都写 another，也不是看到“其他”就都写 others。先看名词结构。
others：它自己就是“其他人或其他东西”，后面不再接名词
others 是代词，相当于 other people 或 other things。它已经把后面的名词省掉了，所以不能再接一个名词。
Some students like grammar rules. Others prefer examples.
有些学生喜欢语法规则，其他学生更喜欢例句。这里 Others 后面没有 students，因为它已经指代 other students。
对比一下：
Right: other students
Right: others
Wrong: others students这也是很多人写错的地方。你只要问一句：“后面还要不要放名词？”要放，就用 other + 复数名词；不放，才可能用 others。
the other：两个里面剩下的那个，或另一边
the other 的重点是 the。它不是随便另一个，而是你和对方都能定位的“剩下那个”。
I have two bags. One is black, and the other is blue.
我有两个包。一个是黑色的，另一个是蓝色的。因为一共就两个，说完 one 之后，剩下的那个很明确，所以用 the other。
它也可以放在单数名词前：
The other bag is blue.
另一个包是蓝色的。如果是“另一边、另一端”，也常用 the other：
The shop is on the other side of the street.
那家店在街道的另一边。这里不是“随便另一条街”，而是这条街的另一边。
the others：一组里面剩下的那些
如果范围里不止两个，而且你要说“剩下的那些人或东西”，用 the others。
There are six plates. I found four. Where are the others?
有六个盘子。我找到了四个。剩下的那些在哪里？也可以接复数名词：
Where are the other two plates?
剩下那两个盘子在哪里？注意这里的差别：
the other plate
剩下的那一个盘子
the other plates
剩下的那些盘子
the others
剩下的那些，不再接名词the 让范围变得明确，所以 the other 和 the others 往往都和“前面已经提到的范围”有关。
each other 和 one another：表示彼此，不是 others 的复数
each other 和 one another 表示“互相、彼此”。Cambridge 和 Oxford 的学习词典都把它们解释为群体成员彼此对对方做某事。现代用法里，两者差别很小，通常可以互换，each other 更常见。
They looked at each other and laughed.
他们互相看着对方笑了。We should help one another.
我们应该互相帮助。常见错误有两个。
第一个，把它写成一个词：
Wrong: eachother
Right: each other第二个，把它当成复数：
Wrong: They love each others.
Right: They love each other.each other 和 one another 不是 other / others 那张表里的普通“其他人”，它们专门表达动作的相互关系。

There are ten students. Three are in the classroom. ______ are outside.答案是：
There are ten students. Three are in the classroom. The others are outside.总数是十个，剩下那些学生是明确范围，用 the others。
练习 5：each other 还是 others
They helped ______ during the trip.答案是：
They helped each other during the trip.这里是“他们互相帮助”，不是“他们帮助其他人”。
放回真实句子里练，才不会只会做选择题
这类词最怕只背中文释义。你可以在 Video Language Learn 里找含有 other、another、each other 的真实英文句子，用三步练。
第一遍，只听原句，不急着看解释。先判断说话人是不是在讲“剩下的那个或那些”。
第二遍，看字幕，把关键词圈出来：
another cup
other people
the other side
each other第三遍，做替换练习：
another cup -> another question
other people -> other students
the other side -> the other room
each other -> help each other最后再跟读整句。这样你练到的不是孤立单词，而是能放进口语里的句子块。

other 和 others 可以互换吗
不能直接互换。other 常放在名词前，比如 other people；others 是代词，后面不再接名词，比如 Others disagree.。
the other 和 another 都是“另一个”，怎么区分
